Mercedes GP after qualifying in Australia: Rosberg disappointed, Schumacher satisfied

“It was a disappointing qualifying today considering the progress made with my engineers in testing. I made a couple of mistakes on my best lap with the option tires which cost me three or four tenths. I could have done better with today's car and so it's frustrating that I wasn't able to give my best. It's not usual for me to make such mistakes in qualifying. But that's how things sometimes go and sixth position is still a good start. We have to be stronger in the race and anything can happen.”

“We had a reasonable qualifying session and I'm happy with the result, even though I had the traffic handicap, especially on my last flying lap. We made some changes to the car after this morning's practice but they didn't work as we hoped. In general I would say that the ranking reflects the situation well and our performance is probably the best for our car at the moment. However, we still have a lot to hope for the race, I'm on the clean side of the grid. As we all know, a lot can happen during a race.”
