Mercedes: another disappointing race for Schumacher and Rosberg in Malaysia

Despite the good conditions of free practice, Mercedes also experienced a difficult weekend in Malaysia. Michael Schumacher finished the Sepang race in ninth position while Nico Rosberg did not go beyond 12th place.

Michael Schumacher:
“It was an intense race today, a little more exciting towards the end but a lot of ups and downs before that. The start was pretty good and then from there it was a matter of managing the tyres. We probably couldn't have expected more than two points today and for sure we have to work on the race pace, not yet at the desired level. We are all aware of this and are more than ready to continue working hard to make progress. On the single lap we are already at a good level but we need to work on our race pace."

Nico Rossberg:
“It wasn't my race today, it was a difficult weekend. I had a bad start and lost positions, which made it very difficult to try and score points. Our pace wasn't good, and it was very difficult to push, so unfortunately we couldn't perform at the level we wanted. Looking at qualifying, we can say that we have made a small step forward compared to Melbourne but we will continue to work to improve further."
