McLaren towards the reconfirmation of the line-up
For boss Whitmarsh the two drivers deserve another chance and a better car
Team that wins does not change and even if the McLaren seems to be quite far from success this year, in all likelihood it will not make any changes to its lineup for 2014. At least that's what the team principal has implied Martin Whitmarsh speaking to the media present in Belgium.
“Our boys deserve a new chance and a better car than the current one – he declared – So far they have done an excellent job and they are two good drivers”.
He clearly expressed his desire not to leave Woking Sergio Perez. “I would like to stay, but at the moment I haven't received any confirmation – he stated – I know that this team can achieve high goals, it is a decidedly motivated group hungry for victories, so there is no reason to leave, in fact I would very much like to become world champion wearing this suit. I love the team and I'm almost certain that I will stay, however there are options...".
He joked about it instead Jenson Button: “I think I have a contract for next year, but I don't think it's signed yet…Obviously I hope to continue here.”
