McLaren: Sam Michael satisfied with development in winter testing
"The correlation between the project and the track is solid"
Positive final day of testing for the McLaren team in Spain. Jenson Button completed 122 laps at the Circuit de Catalunya today.
At the end of the test, sports director Sam Michael declared:
“After completing over 5.000 kilometers, through dry and wet conditions, we have collected a lot of data on the MP4-28A. A lot of the winter testing has been methodical, systems-checking work and the correlation between design and track is solid – this is one of the most important aspects in modern F1 given the limited track testing opportunity. A special thank you to everyone who put so much effort into the testing program. We're all very much looking forward to the first race in Melbourne in two weeks' time – from the lap times we've seen it's going to be an incredibly close season!”
