McLaren, 2015 line-up delayed due to internal problems? The team denies it
One more black smoke to understand who will support Alonso
There really is no peace for Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen. Both McLaren drivers will have to still wait to find out which of the two of them will be at the wheel of the MP4-30 in 2015, which of the Danish and the British will be the driver who will join Fernando Alonso. McLaren has denied, however, that this delay is due to ongoing problems unrolling behind the scenes, as had been leaked in recent days. The British team, especially by the English media, was heavily blamed for having decided to let a driver between Jenson Button and Kevin Magnussen get away. Until the official announcement arrives, the pilots will find themselves the victims of an unnerving wait.
McLaren finds itself in the difficult task of choosing who between Button and Magnussen it will follow in Woking. English appears to be the favorite: in addition to Lego's denial of being able to enter Formula 1 as Magnussen's sponsor, Button also has the support of Fernando Alonso, who would have made his 34-year-old colleague's name his own as a possible teammate. The story is different for the Dane instead, after an initial moment in which he seemed to have more resources than Button to continue in McLaren, he now starts from a disadvantaged position. The capabilities and strengths of both are well known to the team tasked with taking one difficult decision. Now we just need to understand whether McLaren will finally make Alonso's return official or whether they will wait for the complete line-up.
