McLaren-Honda, further upgrades to the power unit expected

After the evolutionary steps taken by Honda in Montreal and Silverstone, McLaren will be able to benefit from further developments to the Japanese power unit during the second part of the season. This was announced by the Japanese company's motorsport manager Yusuke Hasegawa.

The latter, who took over from Yasuhisa Arai last February, made it clear that a new version of the engine will be brought to the track as soon as possible. A further update (the last of 2016) is most likely expected during the Suzuka "home" weekend.

“We are working on the development of the engine definitively – Hasegawa told F1i.comWe still don't know in which race the new evolution will be introduced, probably in Monza if not already in Spa. Then another one almost certainly in Suzuka".

“Our goal is to use the remaining ten tokens by the end of the season – says Hasegawa -   Our team has reached a very good level this year and our improvements have been constant. Our engineers are highly motivated and we have big ambitions for the future to pursue with McLaren".
