McLaren, Hamilton hopes for rain after a disappointing qualifying
Lewis Hamilton believes the rain could give him a good chance to get a good result in the Brazilian Grand Prix after a disappointing qualifying.
The English driver will start from fourth position, behind Jenson Button, and he admitted that he is not satisfied:
“A little disappointing, really,” Hamilton said. “We are still in the second row, but obviously we would like to be further ahead.”
“I'm not happy with my performance, in the sense that I wasn't fast enough. I'm a couple of tenths behind Jenson, so it's clear that the car can be a little bit faster, but the Red Bulls were very fast today.”
Hamilton said he struggled in qualifying, but reckons the rain forecast for tomorrow should give him a good opportunity to recover in the race.
“I struggled in qualifying. But I'm on the second row, and that's not a bad starting position.”
“I started from fourth a lot of times. We're hoping for a wet race tomorrow, so let's wait and see. It can be very difficult here with the weather and I think tomorrow it will rain, this should give us a better chance.”
“Four is a good number for me, and hopefully we can turn it into something more positive tomorrow.”
