McLaren, Button smiles: “Proud of the progress made by the team”

A power problem that excluded him from contention, but Jenson Button, even days later, confirms the good impressions he had in Bahrain with the MP4-31. The Woking single-seater, although still far from the top of the class, has made a clear step forward compared to the 2015 version, proving to be at least competitive for the points zone, as demonstrated by the brilliant debut in top formula of the Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne.
“It's a shame we didn't finish the Bahrain GP in the points - Jenson said - But I can say I'm proud of the progress made by the team. In general the car has improved a lot, we had never been so fast in free practice, these are small signs that show that we are making big steps forward that we can be proud of. We need to work on the details to improve more and more, in Sakhir without my problem we could have ended up with an excellent haul of points."
