McLaren: Button optimistic but worried about his opponents

Jenson Button achieved the best time in Friday free practice for the Formula 1 Turkish GP. The Englishman from McLaren is cautiously satisfied with his car.

“We're reasonably happy with the balance, but we need to find something to preserve the tires in race conditions,” said Button. “On a single lap the car is good, but there is still something to improve. However, it wasn't bad,” Button explained.

McLaren was not in a position to introduce the updates planned for Turkey, so Button was worried that other teams, with more important innovations, had gained ground: We don't have all the updates we were hoping for,” admitted Button. “It's a bit disappointing, but we still have some news. It's nice to progress. I'm just a little worried about some teams, I think they have more important news and we haven't seen the real pace of their cars yet."
