McLaren, Alonso: “Singapore is a fun and difficult track, we can do well”

Fernando Alonso looks forward to the final phase of the season with renewed optimism. Already in Singapore, according to the Spaniard, McLaren will be able to have its say, after having shaken off the difficult all-engine races in Spa and Monza. Fernando then explains that he particularly appreciates a circuit that is different from the others, particular and difficult, where he has also triumphed twice in his career, in 2008 in the controversial Piquet crash GP and in 2010 with Ferrari.

“We knew Spa and Monza would be two very difficult races for us - Alonso explained - Now we are heading towards the end of the season and we are optimistic that we are able to improve and finish in the points more often. Singapore is a very fun, bumpy and challenging track, but it has a very particular design, with lots of violent braking and sharp corners. You need a car with high downforce and good traction. In Singapore I won twice, the atmosphere is really exciting".
