McLaren, Alonso: “In Monza there is a sensation of phenomenal speed”

Fernando Alonso was the protagonist of many battles in the Italian GP, as an opponent, when he was booed with Renault in 2006, as a winner in 2007 with McLaren, but above all as a home favourite, in the Ferrari years. His success in 2010, just ahead of current teammate Jenson Button, was unforgettable, as were his "shoulders" with Vettel in 2012 and 2013.

"Hor a lot of good memories of Monza, I was an opponent, then I was supported a lot in the Ferrari days – commented Fernando –  The atmosphere is unique, it's a really exciting place. This year I expect very high, record-breaking speeds on the straight. Monza is a very fast race, you almost don't notice you're racing it because compared to others it ends immediately. The aerodynamic load is very low and this gives a sensation of speed that is truly impressive, phenomenal."
