McLaren: in Barcelona I work for the Monaco and Canadian races

This first test session in season it proved particularly productive for McLaren Honda. The English team, which had to helplessly watch Alonso's retirement in Barcelona even if not due to reliability problems, on the last day of testing, with Jenson Button, managed to put together 100 laps behind the wheel of the MP4-30, thus having important information for the rest of the season.

In particular, English in the morning focused on aerodynamic work and on mechanical balance, achieving the fourth final time with supersoft compound tyres, thanks to a time of 1'26"927. Everyone at McLaren believes it: the Woking team seems to have found the key to the problem, so much so that it is working hard in anticipation of the next two events of the season, that of Monaco, which will be held next week, and that of Canada which will be staged in the first ten days of June. Precisely for this last race, McLaren tested a low-load rear wing which could prove vitally important on a track like Montreal.

To understand how to maximize the aerodynamic efficiency of the MP4-30, just yesterday afternoon, Jenson Button took to the track with his Painted McLaren, not with a simple splash as we are used to seeing, but actually colored by a paint job made up of three different colors to best define the flow pattern along the bodywork. In addition to the traditional green, the blu on the flow diverters on the sides of the bellies and theorange in the underbody near the T-tray.
