Max Verstappen is officially a Red Bull Junior Team driver

Max Verstappen – the son of former F1 driver Jos – has joined the Red Bull Junior Team.
The sixteen-year-old driver is seen as one of the rising stars of racing and is currently in his second season in the European Formula 3 championship. In recent weeks he has also been linked to Mercedes but the announcement of his arrival at Red Bull has arrived.
“We are pleased to announce that Max Verstappen has accepted our invitation to join the Red Bull Junior Team.” reads the official statement.
“The contract will take effect immediately and the 3-year-old Dutchman will be able to continue his season in the FIA Formula XNUMX European Championship which will stop at the Nurburgring this weekend, naturally continuing as a member of the Van Amersfoort Racing team. As a member of the Red Bull Junior team Max he will race at the Macau Grand Prix in November.”
Verstappen has won six races in a row at the start of the season in the European Formula 3 championship, in particular he triumphed consecutively in the three races that took place at Spa-Francorchamps and Norisring. Rumors have him in F1 starting next season but it is very likely that the Dutch boy will spend a year in Formula Renault 3.5.
Verstappen will find in the Red Bull Junior Team, the current leader of the Formula Renault 3.5 championship standings Carlos Sainz Jr, the GP3 leader Alex Lynn, and Pierre Gasly who is currently in third place in the Formula Renault 3.5 championship.
