Massa: “We hope to have a competitive Ferrari soon”

Felipe Massa is disappointed with the outcome of the Malaysian Formula 1 GP. The Brazilian, never fighting for the top positions, finished the race in 15th position while his teammate won the race and jumped into the lead world championship by taking advantage of the missteps of the other top drivers.

“First of all I want to congratulate Fernando for this beautiful victory, the result of a fantastic race: it is a very important success for the whole team, even if it must not make us forget that the level of our car is not yet up to the standards better” commented Massa.

“It's obvious that I'm disappointed with my result. At the beginning things were going well and I was able to fight with the riders immediately in front of me. When the track was drying I gradually suffered from tire degradation and I could no longer keep a good pace. We chose to follow what Rosberg had done in front of me, who was also apparently having trouble with the tyres, but it didn't work and we lost a lot of time with this additional stop, also considering that the others remained on the track for about ten laps in more before switching to dry tyres. It is important to try to delve deeper into the reasons why there is such a strong difference in performance between our cars but, overall, our hope is to have a more competitive car in the shortest time possible” concluded Massa.
