Massa: “It's a shame about the accident”
Felipe Massa is disappointed with the outcome of qualifying for the Formula 1 Indian GP which saw him qualify in sixth position, penalized by a passage on a curb which damaged the front right suspension causing the Brazilian and his relative to go off the track impact with barriers.
“It's a real shame about what happened on my last timed lap. Today we had the potential for a good placing, as Fernando also demonstrated and the fact that my sixth time was achieved with a rather slow third sector" commented Massa.
“I entered turn 8 and went over the curb but there the right front suspension gave way in the impact with the raised orange part which, in my opinion, is too high in that position: it is a very fast corner, you go at about 215 km/h, and it could be arranged differently. These are details that should be improved for next year. I repeat, I'm disappointed, because the car has been behaving well all weekend. Now I find myself with one less set of Soft tires and with a destroyed front wing: the new solution, which I had here for the first time, has given us something more in terms of performance. Overtaking will be difficult tomorrow due to the dirt on the track but I think we will still see a lot of them" concluded Massa.
