Massa: “I can't see Barrichello in this way, paying to stay in F1”

Felipe Massa pushes Rubens Barrichello to announce his retirement from F1. Veteran Barrichello said he is frantically looking for sponsors to save his Williams seat in 2012.

“The advice I would give him is to stop,” the Ferrari driver told Globo Esporte.

“In my opinion, Rubens had incredible seasons in Formula One, he raced in the best teams and won races. Many of them wish they had made the career of him."

Massa said Rubens should not become one of those drivers who pays to race.

“I would advise him to stop, due to what is happening in his team and in his category. There are twelve teams in Formula One, and six of these ask their drivers for money. For the career that Rubens has had, I cannot see him racing in this way, that is, paying to stay in F1."

“At 40 he doesn't need it. He should make an announcement where he says he's stopping."
