Massa: “I don't agree with the commissioners' decision”

Felipe Massa has declared that he does not agree with the decision of the stewards of the Formula 1 Indian GP who decided to punish him for an "avoidable collision" after contact with Lewis Hamilton. The Ferrari driver then retired after damaging the left front suspension with a ride over a high curb, as in qualifying.

“There's little to say at the end of a weekend like this. Not being able to finish a race in which I demonstrated that I had the pace to fight for the podium is very disappointing" declared Massa.

“Regarding the collision with Hamilton, I can only say that I do not agree with the decision of the stewards who wanted to punish me. I simply followed the ideal trajectory, braking to the limit and remaining on the rubberized part of the track: he remained inside, on the dirty part, and touched me on the left rear wheel. What else could I do? It's the umpteenth time Hamilton comes at me this year, it seems like there's a fatal attraction…. At his time, I tried to talk to him but he didn't seem interested in doing so” explained Massa.

“Now it's better to immediately turn the page and think about the last two Grands Prix of the year. They are both special because Abu Dhabi is a sort of second home race for Ferrari with that extraordinary theme park that stands next to the circuit and then there is Interlagos, always a special event for me. I will try to quickly forget this passage in India and certainly not for the country!" concluded Massa.
