Massa: “I drove like my grandmother”
The Williams driver admitted that he had to change his style to get to the end of the Singapore GP
Felipe Massa didn't exactly welcome the wall's decision Williams to go from three to two stops while the Singapore GP was neutralized by the safety car.
He admitted it himself by declaring that he believed it was a hoax once the communication reached him.
“When they told me that we would change strategy I thought it was a joke because I would have had to resist for more than 25 laps and it seemed impossible to me – the Brazilian's story – At that point I had to change my style and ride like my grandmother. Fortunately, I was still faster than those behind."
“Under a safety vehicle, tire degradation is minimal, furthermore there was the possibility that the race would be shortened – explained the head of engineers Rob smedley – Above all, we were convinced that if the traction hadn't let us down at the end, overtaking us on the straight would have been unlikely."
