Marussia, Glock: “Good race and mega pit stop”

Marussia, Glock: “Good race and mega pit stop”

The good news for Marussia in Abu Dhabi is in the hands of Timo Glock. In fact, the German started from place twenty-one and managed to climb up to fourteenth despite a less than perfect car - "After yesterday's bad qualifying, today went better" - he said - "At the start I touched Pic and a piece fell off on the wing so my aerodynamics were disturbed for the entire first stint, plus I had some understeer that prevented me from getting close to Kovalainen even though I had already created a good gap on Petrov. In the pit the guys did a great job and in the final laps I was able to engage in a nice duel with Sergio Perez who, despite him using DRS, I kept behind. Now I can't wait to face the last two races."

However, it's a shame for Charles Pic who had to retire due to an engine failure – “It was a difficult but fun race. At the start there was a great battle between me, Timo and the Caterhams, but first I had to go wide to avoid collisions and then I was no longer able to keep up with the pace of my target who was Petrov. At the pit stop I lost time and had to give up any hope of recovery until we reached the final retirement. All in all though it was a positive weekend. Now we need to focus on Austin, which is new for everyone and which I expect will be very exciting."
