Marussia, Ellinas: “It was the best day of my life”
Problems instead for Chilton who missed almost the entire session
The initial day of testing at Silverstone for the Marussia coincided with the debut of Tio Ellinas, the first Cypriot in history to sit in a major series cockpit. For him, who on the MR02 he had only been up for one straight test at Kemble, 36 laps and a lot of training in the garage.
“It was the best day of my life and I will remember it forever – his comment – The work mainly concerned familiarization with the car, from the KERS to the DRS, up to the complicated steering wheel. At first I did a series of single laps, then when I got a little more comfortable I did some long runs. Overall I'm happy with my performance and I think the team was too. But now I have to go back to thinking about the current season and my ambitions in GP3."
However, the owner's afternoon was not so profitable Max Chilton, 12th: “Due to a fault with the engine control unit I was only able to complete 58 minutes of the session, but at least I completed what I had planned regarding the tyres. On Thursday I will leave for Russia where the Mosca City Racing will be held over the weekend and then for Hungary to which I have excellent memories with GP2".
