Marko: “Red Bull's tactics are now aimed at winning the drivers' title”

With the constructors' championship in its pocket, Red Bull will turn its attention to winning the drivers' title next weekend in Abu Dhabi.
In Brazil, with Sebastian Vettel behind in the standings but still mathematically in contention for the championship, the team stuck to owner Dietrich Mateschitz's "sporting habits" and refused to implement a strategy favorable to Mark Webber.

But with only the Abu Dhabi race left to run, in 6 days, and Fernando Alonso's Ferrari still at the top of the standings with an 8-point lead, a different approach to the season's epilogue may prove necessary.

“We will think about how to approach Abu Dhabi, both technically and tactically,” said motorsports consultant Dr. Helmut Marko on German television RTL after the Brazilian match.

“Now we just think about celebrating, so all our efforts will be focused on winning the drivers' title in Abu Dhabi,” he added.

What if Vettel and Webber are reluctant to collaborate?

“Then we will remind our drivers that they are players within a team,” the Austrian told Auto Motor und Sport.
