Marciello closes the doors to F1: "It's madness to pay 10 million for a seat"

Despite the excellent season he closed at the wheel of Russian Time in GP2, Raffaele Marciello will not be at the starting line of the next Formula One world championship and in all likelihood his career will continue within the world of GT. The former Ferrari Driver Academy talent explained that it is impossible for him to pay 10 million euros for a seat in the Circus and for this very reason, given the end of his experience within the cadet category, he will look carefully at the Endurance World Championship and to GTs for the continuation of their career within the racing world. Marciello, remember, left the FDA early last year.

Here are the words of Raffaele Marciello: “You have to be realistic and for me it is impossible to pay 10 million for a Formula One seat. If I had all that money I would be happy on holiday for the rest of my days, but that's not the case and I have to look for alternatives. Continuing in GP2 wouldn't make sense since making the jump is complicated, so I think I'll look carefully at the GTs. Paying that much money for a seat is total madness. In Formula One you need money and if you don't have it it's better to look elsewhere."
