Manor, Wehrlein: “The qualifying performance wasn't the best”

Disappointing qualifying for Manor Racing on the Barcelona track. Despite the good performances shown during the morning's free practice, Rio Haryanto and Pascal Wehrlein were unable to close the session ahead of the Saubers of Felipe Nasr and Marcus Ericsson, thus placing themselves in the last row. A rather disappointing day given the excellent times shown yesterday, especially with an empty tank.

Here are the words of Pascal Wehrlein: “Unfortunately, the performance in qualifying wasn't the best. The developments worked quite well, but this track does not suit the characteristics of our car. We don't have enough downforce and this has severely penalized us. Furthermore, we still suffer from compound wear. We know where to intervene and we must continue to work on this path because it is the right one, especially for the development of the single-seater. Despite everything, I remain optimistic."

Here are the impressions of Rio Haryanto: “Pretty disappointed with today's result. After the good free practice we expected a completely different result, but unfortunately that's what happened. The goal now is to improve in the race and make up for the bad performance in Russia. The developments worked and therefore I am sure that tomorrow will be better."
