Manor, Ocon: “Singapore very challenging track”

Happy Friday for Manor Racing on the Singapore track. Pascal Wehrlein and Rio Haryanto managed to complete the work program scheduled for yesterday in the best possible way, carrying out various aerodynamic tests and testing the potential of the super soft compounds on the Asian track. Ocon complained of some small grip problems at the rear, but they will try to resolve the problem during free practice three tomorrow morning.

Pascal Wehrlein: “I find this track very cool; I really like driving here. As expected, we are still not fast enough compared to other teams; This track requires a lot of downforce and good traction, which we are struggling with. There are so many corners here – no long straights – so we knew it would be more difficult. So far we have gone through our weekend program, so all good. “

Stephen Ocon: “I think it was a pretty good day overall. The important thing was to stay on the track and know all the corners. On the Quali lap I started to explore the limits of the car a little more and hit the wall, but luckily there was no significant damage to the car. I lost a little bit of lap time, but that wasn't a problem for today. On long runs, we are very happy with the car. I can't wait for tomorrow, and for running at night. The heat makes it harder, of course, and it's a tiring ride here because you never have rest – you're always turning. All this makes it more difficult and I like that."
