Manor, Haryanto: “Every position counts here”
Wehrlein: "Excited for my first Monaco GP"
A weekend that didn't start off very well for the Manor, with the accident of Haryanto in Free 2 of Thursday, but brightened by the nineteenth position of the Indonesian, who beat his teammate by more than a tenth in qualifying. The German, however, disappointed with his performance, confesses that he is excited for his first Monegasque race.
Haryanto River, 19th with a time of 1:17.295, declared at the end of qualifying: “I am satisfied with my first qualifying session here in Monaco. I had a decent ride, quite on the limit and exciting if I'm honest. It wasn't easy because the tire temperatures were constantly dropping. Obviously every position counts here, so even though I'll start near the back, I'll still be further ahead in case something happens. During the night we will study the best strategy to help us take advantage of any situation that arises in the race. I can't wait for tomorrow."
pascal wehrlein, 20th, with a time of 1:17.452: “Qualifying was chaos with the two red flags in Q1. Twice I went out on new tires and each time the session was interrupted, so I'm very disappointed. But I'm still excited for the race. It's my first Monaco GP and I'm enjoying the challenge with this spectacular track. As we have seen, many things can happen here, so even if today's incidents put a spanner in the works, they could open up opportunities tomorrow. I'll give my best and we'll see what happens,” commented the German driver.
