Luiz Razia hopes to make his F1 debut in 2012

Team Lotus test driver Luiz Razia is determined to make his Formula 1 debut next year as a starter but admits he has sponsor problems.

Razia joined Fernandes' team this year after signing for the AirAsia team in GP2.

The Brazilian, however, hopes to have the opportunity to race the Brazilian GP to have a better chance of finding a seat for next year.

“There is a possibility,” Razia told Globo Esporte. “We are working to find sponsors for next year and it could be a way to start earlier. It is a situation also conditioned by other factors. The first negotiations began in June. We are working for 2012, but why not go to Brazil? We are negotiating. It's very difficult for me, no one knows who Luiz Razia is. Over the years I have tried to build my career. There are 20 Brazilian riders and I think not all of them have a sponsor. If we fail to change this situation, few Brazilians will run in the future."
