Lotus could start a collaboration with Toyota

Lotus has informed that it will make a series of important announcements during the Singapore weekend. We are waiting to know the names of next year's drivers, even if the reconfirmation of at least Trulli seems obvious, and the team's plans for the years to come.

The transition to Renault engines instead of Cosworth ones is now a given but the innovations do not seem to be over.

In fact, it seems that Lotus has entered into negotiations with Toyota for a technical collaboration or consultancy, probably on the construction of the chassis. Mike Gascoyne, former Toyota designer, now working for Lotus, could be the intermediary but we must not underestimate the large number of technicians who, after the withdrawal of the Japanese, found work at the court of Tony Fernandes.

The Lotus team boss himself spoke about the rumors about his future plans during an interview for the BBC: “We are thinking of doing something different and we will do it soon. We have entered into many negotiations and in the last two weeks things seem to have gone very well, we are very satisfied with the result we are obtaining."
