Lotus: Grosjean confirmed for 2013

Romain Grosjean will also remain at Lotus for the 2013 Formula 1 season. The Enstone team announced this in a press release. The renewal of the Frenchman, who completed his first real season in Formula 1 with the team this year, was widely expected but in recent weeks rumors had emerged about other drivers.

The 26-year-old made his F1 debut mid-season 2009 with Renault before racing two years in GP2. In 2011 he took the titles in GP2 and GP2 Asia before returning to F1 as Kimi Raikkonen's partner at Lotus. Grosjean has so far collected 96 points and eighth place in the drivers' championship. After the bad accident at Spa he was punished with disqualification for the Monza race.

“It's fantastic for me to continue with Lotus in 2013,” said Grosjean. “It's superb to have the support of the whole team at Enstone. I really can't wait to repay their trust on the track in Australia. I have learned a lot in my first full season in F1 and my aim is to put these lessons into practice with a more solid and consistent performance on track next year. There are exciting developments behind the scenes at Enstone and I am very excited for the arrival of the E21.”
