Lotus, the other Renault-powered teams invited to the E22 shakedown
The car will debut tomorrow in Jerez
Renault has invited all its F1 customer teams to attend the shakedown of the Lotus E22 tomorrow in Jerez. Although the Enstone team probably doesn't like the presence of three other rival teams, it would be an initiative from Renault. The French company would in fact also have contributed financially to the test.
Renault's idea is to give a further chance to collect data and information after the disastrous start of pre-season tests for the Renault-powered teams with numerous reliability problems.
Red Bull, Toro Rosso and Caterham will therefore be able to send their representatives to the shakedown of the new Lotus to appreciate the changes made by Renault and collaborate with their ideas to try to solve the technical problems of the French powerunit.
Lotus will be able to complete a 100km test, officially for video shooting, with promotional Pirelli tires and at low speed.
