Lotus out on the first lap
Both E23s retired due to accidents
You could say two strikes for the price of one for the poor Lotus which saw his boys return to the pits after just one lap causes performance anxiety.
“My race lasted very little and I'm really sorry for it both for the team present on the circuit, for those who work at Enstone and for the fans who came to see us – he declared Romain Grosjean – Perhaps Ricciardo was too optimistic about the response of the brakes and tires and forced me and my partner to retire. Nobody likes finishing a grand prix in this way, especially knowing how much effort goes into preparing the cars. Now we go to Budapest, a track on which we have done well in the past. I will do everything to earn points."
“At first I thought it was a puncture and I wanted to come back. Unfortunately it was not possible because the damage to the car was too serious – he said Pastor Maldonado – In situations like this nothing can be done. They're part of racing. My thoughts are already on the next appointment."
