Lotus, Allison wants to stay
According to a source within the Enstone team
di StaffJanuary 28, 2013
James Allison will remain at Lotus. This was announced by a source within the Enstone team although he admitted the interest of Mercedes who, through Niki Lauda, would have attempted to hire the technical director of the former Renault team.
Last week, in the midst of the many rumors about Paddy Lowe's possible move from McLaren to Mercedes, it became known that Allison had been indicated by the Woking team as a possible replacement.
But an internal source at Lotus confirmed that it is Mercedes that is courting Allison: "Lauda calls Allison every day" we read in Speed Week. “But James' contract is bulletproof. And among other things he doesn't want to leave”.
