Lopez: “I believe Räikkönen will stay with us”

Gerard Lopez is confident about the future of Raikkönen in the team. According to the co-owner Lotus in fact there would be no reason for Iceman to leave given the group's commitment to meeting his needs, for example by reducing public or sponsor-related commitments to the bare minimum.

“He knows that we treat him well and that we favor the culture of the person – his words reported by dailyrecord.co.uk – What we have to show him is that we are the right team for him as a driver. For now we haven't done everything necessary to convince him to stay, but it will happen soon. In the end it's his choice, however I think our chances are high."

Finally, he commented on the timing of the announcement: “For the moment nothing has been decided. He is taking information and examining all possibilities. I think we will have to wait a little before the answer."
