Lewis Hamilton wants to define his future as soon as possible
The Englishman will begin negotiations after the first races of the season
Lewis Hamilton he said he wanted to define his future next “the first races” to avoid speculation during the season.
The Englishman's contract expires at the end of the 2012 season, and Hamilton has been linked several times to Red Bull following his meeting with Christian Horner in last season's Canadian GP. After the presentation of the new Mclaren MP4-27 the Englishman admitted that he wants to plan his future as soon as possible.
“At the moment I am focused on preparing for next season. Probably after the first races the contract will be something we will talk about."
“So we can focus on the rest of the year without the team being worried about your questions (referring to journalists, ed.). So I will try to resolve the contracted issue as soon as possible."
The drivers' market will come to life next year given that in addition to Hamilton there are three other drivers from the 4 top teams expiring, namely Massa at Ferrari, Webber at Red Bull and Schumacher at Mercedes.
