Lewis Hamilton: “My goal is pole position”
The Mercedes driver ended the first day in command
Maybe he's not the favorite for the world title Lewis Hamilton, but it certainly is for the victory here Abu Dhabi, where he has already shown a decidedly promising step. The pilot Mercedes, leading in both free practice sessions on Friday, has excellent sensations with his car and is aiming straight for pole position on Saturday.
“It was a great day, overall with no real problems,” he commented Hamilton at the end of Friday. “The first run in FP2 wasn't the best because there was a lot of traffic and I wasn't able to do a fast lap, so I was able to set a satisfactory time: not perfect, but still good enough. We worked a lot on both the flying lap and the long runs and I am very happy with the car; we are in a good position ahead of tomorrow and pole position is my goal. I know I'm fast on this track. The car is at the top and there is still some time to squeeze out; at the moment I'm only focused on this,” concluded the three-time world champion.
