The fins on the new Williams are legal

The new livery of the FW31, the car with which Williams will contest the new championship, debuted on Sunday in Jerez. A particularity found was the presence of two vertical fins, present on the sides of the cockpit. Since this year the chassis of the cars have encountered multiple restrictions from an aerodynamic point of view and therefore the two fins of the Williams have sparked many rumors accusing the latter, but the technical director Sam Michael explained that the rules imposed by the FIA ​​do not apply for the 75 mm height of the two fins, and also specified that the components do not create downforce.

BMW-Sauber seems to already have the intention of copying the team in question, but according to Michael, other teams will soon follow their idea.
