Report cards from the Bahrain Grand Prix

Here are the report cards from the Bahrain Grand Prix: a race that gave us a few more emotions than the previous two Grands Prix.

Lewis Hamilton

Rating: 10

He doesn't get pole on Saturday, but on Sunday he sticks out his claws and fights with his teammate for the victory: congratulations. The retirement suffered in the first GP did not demoralize the young English driver who, aware of the potential of the car and his abilities, put all the concentration and determination necessary on the track to beat his teammate.

Nico Rosberg

Rating: 9.5

He didn't win on Sunday, but on Saturday he put in a stratospheric lap and in the race he fought with his teammate to win: many compliments for him too. The only difficulty that emerged from this weekend is, perhaps, a hint of unscrupulousness, of madness that characterizes his teammate and which, in the melee, was noticed: not that Nico held back in the clash, but the English prevailed.

Sergio Perez

Rating: 9

The young Mexican finally rises from the ashes and grabs the lowest step of the podium, giving the team a great breath of optimism for the season.

Daniel Ricciardo

Rating: 8.5

Ten positions up on the starting grid, but when the engines start up the Australian doesn't look at anything or anyone: this brings him to a well-deserved and hard-worked fourth position. So good!

Nico Hulkenberg

Rating: 8

Hulk hammers out excellent results and excellent races one after the other: this weekend too he is the protagonist of an excellent comeback, gaining 6 positions.

Sebastian Vettel

Rating: 7

Continuous trouble for the world champion, who on the fifteenth lap announced via radio that the DRS was not working: too easily, however, he left the path clear for his young teammate, who overtook him without awe. However, a good race, certainly not excellent.

Felipe Massa

Rating: 7.5

Maybe, perhaps, the move to Williams was good for Felipe, competitive in qualifying, constant in the race: who knows what pleasure he feels having the two reds behind him... revenge is a dish best served cold.

Valtteri Bottas

Rating: 7.5

An excellent start to the season for the young Bottas too: he has a good car in his hands and is able to exploit all its potential.

Fernando Alonso

Rating: 6.5

Unfortunately there isn't much to say about the Ferrari drivers' performances: the car still struggles to be competitive, the drivers do their best to reach the top positions, but there is still so much, so much to work on: we are necessarily waiting for improvements .

Kimi Raikkonen

Rating: 6.5

Although the position at the finish line is not yet sufficient, in this race at least Kimi "showed himself" in several duels, giving us some emotion. Less anonymous than his companion.

Daniil Kvyat

Rating: 7

The Russian from Italy (born Russian, lives in Rome, supports Roma and speaks fluent Italian) continues to work well with his ToroRosso: this time no points are awarded but the performances are good and consistency is not lacking.

Romain Grosjean

Rating: 6.5

Finally the Lotus arrives at the end of the race: these are certainly not the positions in which we would like to see the young French driver, but at least progress and improvements are starting to be seen. The light at the end of the tunnel?

Max Chilton

Rating: 6.5

Combine a good race with some retirements and here is a Chilton who recovers 8 positions, placing thirteenth: good performance, as always, however, there is still work to be done.

Pastor Maldonado

Rating: 4

4 direct and red card for Maldonado who, coming out of the pits, hits the poor and innocent Gutierrez squarely: a maneuver absolutely to be condemned, the consequences of which could have been much more serious.

Kamui Kobayashi

Rating: 6.5

Positive weekend for Kobayashi who works hard to improve his Caterham: unfortunately there are still many technical difficulties.

Jules Bianchi

Rating: 6.5

The young Frenchman shows himself to be aggressive throughout the weekend and shows his claws in the race: excellent reaction time when he risks colliding with Raikkonen, avoiding him without causing damage to him and the others.

Jenson Button

Rating: 6.5

An uphill race for Button who struggled to get into a rhythm: he then managed to have a good pace, but it was a shame that the car abandoned him on the penultimate lap, as it had done shortly before with his teammate.

Kevin Magnussen

Rating: yes

Betrayed by his car, the debutant son of an artist begins to have to face the difficulties of the Grand Prix, the pressure of the people around him... In short, it's not all roses in the Circus.

Esteban Gutierrez

Rating: 6

Gutierrez's race was good, but it's a shame that the poor Mexican ended the Bahrain Grand Prix with an involuntary somersault in the air which stunned him for a few minutes, but fortunately without any consequences.

Marcus Ericsson

Rating: yes

Jean-Eric Vergne

Rating: yes

Adrian Sutil

Rating: yes
