Lauda: “Vettel can beat Schumacher's records in Formula 1”

Sebastian Vettel is capable of breaking Michael Schumacher's records in Formula 1 according to former world champion Niki Lauda. Vettel became the youngest double world champion in history at Suzuka after securing his second title at 24.

Schumacher, the most successful driver in F1 with seven titles and 91 victories, achieved his second title at the age of 26.

“There are all the circumstances that would allow him to beat Schumacher,” Lauda told Reuters. “If the car allows him, he will certainly be able to. If you choose the wrong car you can't win because it's always a combination of two elements that makes the difference. But theoretically Vettel can win more than Schumacher if he is in the right car at the right time because he is certainly capable of winning. So far he has offered the best performance in Formula 1, at his age he has already won two titles. Winning for the first time is always the most difficult thing in your career, starting with go-karts and growing, years and years of work. The second time is easier because there is less pressure. Vettel is the kind of person who wants to go faster and faster with every lap of every race. I got to a point where I decided I wanted more from my life. But in this case, at his age there is no reason to be demotivated”.
