Lauda: “Sad not to be able to race in Germany”

Before all hope faded there Mercedes had offered to help Germany organize and promote the grand prix which should have been held on July 19th and which instead will remain just an empty space in the 2015 calendar.

“We tried to do everything we could, but every proposal was rejected – declared the non-executive boss of the German team Niki Lauda – It's really sad not to be able to attend the race this year, however if no one was able to bring the event to life that's right."

For the country of Vettel and Rosberg, this was compounded by further bad news. RTL, the broadcaster that broadcasts F1 free-to-air, recorded a drop in spectators in Australia from 3,1 million in 2014 to 1,8 million in the edition just played.
