Argentina close to returning to F1 in 2013

Argentina is close to returning to the Formula 1 world championship calendar, the president of the South American country has announced. The EFE agency reports the statements of Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner who said that the race in Argentina will be held in November or December 2013.

The race will take place on a street circuit in the city of Mar del Plata.

“For us it is very important because after football, racing is the second sport in Argentina.”

Fernandez said the agreement will initially be for three years, from 2013 to 2015.
