Wolff hopes for the test for young drivers
The wife of the Mercedes boss dreams of a wheel in the Circus after years of DTM
The tester Williams Susie Wolff she could be the first woman to participate in the F1 test day dedicated to young drivers scheduled at the end of the championship.
She revealed it herself in an interview with the BBC, – “It would be a first step, an important opportunity to show my speed in the hope of earning the super license and maybe a seat. Theoretically I would have already accumulated the mileage needed for the permit, but it would be stupid of me to request it now as it is unrealistic to get anything from it, I don't have much experience, I have never attempted a start or even a pit stop, so I need more time . I want to do everything step by step, in the best way. A team like ours doesn't invest in someone if they aren't competitive enough, so what I have to do is prove that I am."
Regarding her being a woman in a predominantly male environment, she then added, – “I had to earn the respect and consideration of my group and the paddock by showing that I deserved a chance. The team has been very close to me and knowing that Claire Williams is now deputy team principal is a joy, however in general there remains a certain skepticism about the fairer sex in motorsport."
