Williams could provide gearboxes to rival F1 teams
di Staff8 September 2010
Williams' rival F1 teams could fit the hydraulic system and gearbox supplied by the Grove team in 2011. A spokesperson for the team confirmed the rumour.
This week it was learned that the English manufacturer could take on the role of alternative to the standard hydraulic systems supplied by the FIA and produced by Xtrac currently used by new entries Lotus, Virgin and HRT.
Lotus would be close to a technical collaboration agreement with Renault for next year, while Williams would be an alternative for the other teams.
“We have received requests for our hydraulic systems and gearboxes, we are open to supplies, but we have not yet reached any agreement at the moment” said the Williams spokesperson.
