This is how Williams comments on the outcome of the appeal judgement

The Williams F1 team welcomes the conclusions reached by the FIA International Court of Appeal (ICA) investigating the issue of fuel temperatures recorded at the last Brazilian Grand Prix. The results of the appeal judgment indicate that the decision of the commissioners in Brazil remains confirmed and valid.

The Williams team did not break the rules or demonstrate an intention to obtain competitive advantages from the way in which the cars in the race were fueled. Out of respect for the appeals process, Williams refrained from making any public statements until the conclusion, but the team can now confirm that things happened this way:

1. Article 6.5.4 of the FIA technical regulations states that the petrol on board cannot be colder than 10 degrees centigrade compared to the ambient temperature.

2. There is no specific source for measuring the ambient temperature, and there is no sensor approved to detect the temperature of the petrol introduced and that present in the car.

3. Meteo France, which provides the official temperature to the FIA and Formula 1 teams, recorded a maximum temperature during the Brazilian Grand Prix of 33 degrees centigrade.

4. The lowest temperatures recorded by precision sensors in Williams' fuel tank and fuel line in its cars were 31 degrees Celsius and 35 degrees Celsius.

5. Consequently, as noted by the commissioners, there was no violation of the regulation

6. All pronouncements and opinions expressed in Team Manager meetings and other discussions on the matter are consistent with this, i.e. with the version offered by Williams in the Court of Appeal.

These facts support the decision of the commissioners in Brazil. Williams was pleased to be able to present these facts to the ICA and have the decision confirmed that both Williams cars were legal for the Grand Prix. Specifically, the appeal was found to be inadmissible as McLaren did not follow the correct path and did not follow a clearly documented protest procedure.
