Renault does not comment on the FIA summons
di F1 editorial team6 September 2009
Renault said it would not comment on the news of the summons before the FIA World Council. The Federation has in fact accused the French team of deliberately causing an accident with Nelson Piquet Jr at the 2008 Singapore GP "with the aim of causing the entry of the safety car and giving Fernando Alonso an advantage".
The World Council will decide on the violation of article 151c and the maximum penalty is exclusion from Formula 1.
"Before attending the meeting, the team will make no further comments" read a Renault statement.
