The Red Bull RB9 makes its track debut in Jerez with Mark Webber

The second best time for the Australian driver

Just 48 hours after its unveiling in Milton Keynes, the Infiniti Red Bull Racing RB9 took to the track at the Jerez circuit in Spain today for the first pre-season test of 2013.

With Mark Webber behind the wheel, the RB9 completed 73 laps. 1:19.70 Mark's best time, the second fastest time of the day which left the Australian very satisfied ahead of his seventh season with the team.

Mark said: “It was a pretty good test, there were no big changes to the regulations this year and the car is an evolution of what we did last season, so there were no big surprises. I think most of the drivers will sit back tonight and think about today's times, whether they were competitive enough.”

“It was actually like a Friday practice session in some respects. We have started to understand the tires and there are a lot of positive aspects,” she added. “The car looks similar to last year, so the main difference is the tyres. With these tires you are always on the alert. It was good that we had consistent temperatures today, so we got a lot of information and feedback to analyze. Overall though, the car looks pretty good, so I'm happy.”
