The new Virgin on track in February

The new Virgin car will be ready to race as early as February. This was revealed by technical director Nick Wirth, who adds that the single-seater will not be tested in a wind tunnel before its debut on the track.

Wirth, who was a pioneer in advancing the technology related to computational fluid dynamics, feels quite confident in thinking that his projects do not need modifications to be made with the help of the wind tunnel.

His company, Wirth Research, contributed to Acura's victories in the LMP1 and LMP2 categories of the ALMS (American Le Mans Series).

“Our company is involved in many sectors, even outside of Motorsport and our research philosophy will continue to satisfy our customers – comments Wirth – Our F1 project says a lot about our motivations and our capabilities '. We can't wait to see the car on the road in February."

“We are obviously happy that the Virgin team is part of our customers – he continues – and we are very proud to provide the 'backbone' and with it a unique approach to design and development. This is part of what we call 'Development in the digital domain'.”
