McLaren does not betray Mercedes-Benz and denies negotiations with PURE

The Woking team denies a link with PURE, Craig Pollock's company which will supply engines with low polluting emissions.

McLaren-PURE: this wedding shouldn't happen. And the denial of the increasingly insistent rumors of recent times about a possible future connection with the company Craig Pollock, comes from the Woking team. McLaren will not abandon engines Mercedes, as reported by the English press.

“The contact that occurred many months ago was of an informal nature,” specified a spokesperson for the British team, putting all the rumors to rest. Before the PURE, an approach to the Honda and, consequently, a departure from Mercedes-Benz, but even in this case the news was found to be unfounded, with the denial, in November, of McLaren's managing director, Jonathan Neale. “We are very satisfied with the relationship with Mercedes-Benz, a relationship that we want to continue. I don't know where these rumors came from, but they're not true,” he declared a few months ago.

The PURE of Pollock, former team principal of BAR and manager of Jacques Villeneuve, will produce engines with low polluting emissions, engines that should enter the circus starting from next 2014. For this reason, the company would have started to maintain relationships with the various teams to test the waters and among these there is also McLaren. The Woking team's link with Mercedes-Benz will last until 2015. For now, therefore, the German group seems to be safe.
