McLaren changes the fund ahead of Monza
McLaren Mercedes has revealed that it will make some small changes to the flat bottom of the car in light of the stricter rules that the Federation will apply from this weekend in Monza and ironically the FIA has decided to apply these strict regulations following the numerous protests coming from the Woking team.
“The new rules are very strict” – says Tim Goss, McLaren's chief engineer – “we had to make some small changes to the underside of the car to make sure we stayed within the allowed limits.
I hope this helps our car gain an improvement in performance and obviously I hope it can bring the value of the Red Bull cars back to an earthly level.
We are not the only ones who have had to make some small changes: many other teams have been forced to do so, if they intend not to risk anything."
Goss also spoke about the upcoming Italian event for which he expects the performance of the top cars to be very close and not with the usual embarrassing Red Bull supremacy.
