McLaren stops development of the MP4-28
Boss Whitmarsh confirmed focus on 2014
In McLaren they decided. No more energy wasted trying to patch up a season that is now lost or almost lost, but maximum concentration on the 2014 project.
In a nutshell, this is the message sent by the head of the Woking team Martin Whitmarsh, who told Autosport: “We are very motivated and we believe we have learned from the mistakes made, which is a positive aspect in itself. Of course it's hard to have to choose to back out of the battle for races and titles as it's not in the nature of the team, but at least this way we've given ourselves a wake up call. There MP4-28 it was a disappointment and although faster than the 2012, compared in terms of performance to our rivals' cars it is much slower. In my opinion we are about six months behind the others. We made a big mistake."
