Manor values its seats at 10 million

Important figure that distances Pascal Wehrlein from the Banbury team

Manor values its seats at 10 million

According to what was reported by the German newspaper Car engine and sport, Manor would have set the price of its seats at 10 million each. Budget significantly increased compared to the season just ended, if you consider that Roberto Mehri - by his own admission - competed without a shred of sponsor.

With the supply of Mercedes engines starting in 2016, many had approached Pascal Wehrlein to the Banbury team. The current third driver of the three-pointed star, as well as fresh from the DTM, should remain another season in the German touring championship or could try his hand at GP2.

Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff spoke on the Wehrlein-Marussia affair: “We have a budget for our young drivers, but not at those figures ".

Mercedes will have to try to place both Pascal Wehrlein and Esteban Ochon: “Both could compete in the DTM, we'll see”, concluded Wolff.

With the Wehrlein option no longer available, the next Manor line-up should be made up of the riders who finished 2015: Will Stevens and Alexander Rossi.
