Force India takes fourth place in the constructors' championship

Force India can celebrate fourth place in the constructors' standings after the result obtained in the last Grand Prix of the year in Abu Dhabi. In fact, the Anglo-Indian team was the first of the "others" placing Nico Hulkenberg 7th and Sergio Perez 8th. This result has been a constant for Force India this year and it is thanks to this consistency that the team beat the much more famous Williams.

Nico Hulkenberg – 7th: “It was a simple and solitary race in which I mainly fought against my teammate as the first six cars were simply uncatchable. The first corner was interesting because I was touched by Max [Verstappen], the contact damaged the floor of my car and that made things a bit more difficult. Luckily we had the pace to maintain our position and bring home the result. It's nice to end my adventure at Force India with a great result that helped the team finish fourth in the championship. Everyone deserves congratulations and also a lot of credit for the extraordinary work done this year. I leave this team with many happy memories and Force India will always be part of my life. I have earned a lot here and they have made me a better driver. We have grown together and I am proud of what we have achieved.”

Sergio Perez – 8th: “I'm happy with my race. I finished in the same position I started in, and the race was quite calm, there was a bit of tension towards the end when I had to hold off Felipe [Massa]. I pushed hard at the beginning of my various stints trying to get close to Nico, but in the end I finished behind him. It was nice to finish the season with some points which ensured us the great result of fourth place in the constructors' championship. Now that the season is over I will return to Mexico to enjoy some rest. It's been a long, busy year and I'm looking forward to spending time with my friends and family. It will be a happy holiday for the results I achieved this year. I will relax and then go back to work for 2017.”

ROBERT FERNLEY, DEPUTY TEAM PRINCIPAL: “Finishing the season with two cars solidly in the points and with a fourth place in the constructors' championship is truly fantastic. It has been a tremendous year for us and it is important to give due credit to each team member for all their hard work and the hours they have dedicated to the team both on the track and in the factory. All the efforts have been rewarded and today we celebrate our best result ever in the constructors. Both drivers did a great job today but also in the rest of the year. It's also nice that Nico was able to finish with us with a good result and we have to thank him for what he has done for us in these 5 years as a Force India driver. He has been part of our journey to the top of the grid and it has been a pleasure to work with him. Sergio also deserves many compliments as he was the first driver in the history of Force India to exceed 100 points in a single season. He has been exceptional this year and he deserves seventh place in the drivers' standings.”
